Testerna är ofta repetitiva och tar mycket tid från verksamheten, vilket leder till att antalet årliga uppgraderingar begränsas av hur mycket tid som går att frigöra för regressionstester inom organisationen. Att automatisera sina regressionstester gör det möjligt att nyttja styrkan i Microsofts uppdateringar i större omfattning och samtidigt frigöra tid för mer värdeskapande aktiviteter. En annan fördel med automatiserade tester är att ni kan vara säkra på att testerna utförs på samma sätt varje gång, vilket säkrar såväl kvalitet samt kontroll över de tester som körs. ### Värden som realiseras med testautomation 1\. Regression Suite Automation Tool (RSAT) är en del av verktygssviten för [Dynamics 365](https://accigo.se/microsoft-dynamics-365/) och används för att automatisera testning av D365 Finance & Operations. Att automationsverktyget är en del av Dynamics 365-sviten möjliggör även automatiska uppdateringar av testfallen vid ändringar i gränssnittet. ### 3 steg för att kom igång med RSAT 1\. Skapa tekniska förutsättningar Att skapa de tekniska förutsättningarna som krävs för att komma igång med RSAT är relativt enkelt. Ofta finns redan en testmiljö, definierade processer samt en uppsatt [Azure](https://accigo.se/digitala-plattformar/azure/) Devops. Det är dessa tre komponenter som utgör grundpelaren för RSAT. 2\. Inventering av processer och testfall En viktig del i arbetet med testautomation är att inventera processer och testfall. Det handlar dels om att undersöka vad som lämpar sig för automation, dels om att på bästa sätt återanvända testfall för att få en så heltäckande testning som möjligt. 3\. Automatisering Den tredje delen innebär att spela in testfall med hjälp av Task Recorder. När testfallen är inspelade ska de länkas samman på det sätt som skapar de mest heltäckande testerna. Task Recordings är även ett bra användarstöd då det ger användaren guidad hjälp direkt i gränssnittet i Dynamics F & O. De kan med fördel användas både för onboarding av nya kollegor och instruktioner i det dagliga arbetet. Ett bra sätt för att komma igång med testautomation och RSAT är att börja litet, till exempel med en process. Det skapar en god förståelse för vilka möjligheter som finns samt hur testerna på bästa sätt bör struktureras för att skapa mest värde i din organisation.
